Oh this is totally a Mary Shelley thing. All the names are too similar. Are we going to meet Frankenstein in this book?!!?

Beginning to suspect that at least part of the book is inspired by Mary Shelley’s life. Young writer who runs away with bohemian artist (musician here, poet for Mary) along with her stepsister. Many many more similarities are visible to people who read the biography of Shelley and her mother “Romantic Outlaws”

OH COOL IT’S HIS MOMS FAULT HES LIKE THIS CAUSE FREUD

The way he’s writing about the violence that happened to these women is extremely ick, especially in the scenes where he’s fully imagining what *could* have been going through the killer’s head. I’m nearly halfway through and side-eying this book’s categorization of nonfiction

Why does this man insist on noting the breast size of every teenager he writes about??

Does Will Smith have a humiliation kink? Why is he telling us this?

It’s not adorable to stubbornly ignore safety protocols going up a mountain and I low key hope someone on this film crew is maimed in an avalanche.

This is a book about a woman who pretends to be her sommelier friend while working at an upscale Scottish hotel and I just realized SHE NEVER TOLD HER FRIEND SHE WAS GOING TO IMPERSONATE HER. I just assumed the two were in it together. This is unhinged. (I know her friend is probably later going to be revealed as a *bad* friend but still who does that?!)

I guess 2019 really was the year of unnecessary sequels. Between this and “The Handmaid’s Tale” I am just baffled-why are these authors so content to weaken their perfect endings?
