“So when does a person stop playing?” At what stage, what age does this taste for making up stories and then acting them out, with carefree spontaneity, stop? … as if they sensed one day very soon, they, too would inevitably leave behind those fluid realms in which playing is more about instinct than conscious decision. But when? Precisely when is that plug pulled?
