I really enjoy how this author writes. One of the few that makes me laugh out loud.

I’m sure it was meant literally but figuratively it’s quite the statement. When someone attacks the God/faith of someone else… they’re attacking that person’s source of hope.

"Songs and books went on and on about the pain of romantic relationships ending, but they hardly spoke about the death of a friendship. Sometimes, it was slow and soundless. Other times, it was like a crash of thunder against a clear sky. Shocking and quick. A different kind of heartbreak that was no less deep."

I feel called out by chapter 6

2. smell like your flock
3. who am I to judge?
4. don't change - reinvent
5. make inclusion a top priority
6. avoid insularity
7. choose pragmatism over ideology
8. employ the optics of decision making
9. run your organization like a field hospital
10. live on the frontier
11. confront adversity head-on
12. pay attention to non-customers

The local church should be like a MASH unit/field hospital deployed after battle. Serving everyone without judgement and addressing the most harmful wounds first.

The narrator is the same but he changed the cadence/tone of a few of the voices... which is annoying.

Currently in Chapter 26 and man the author likes two similies in particular; 'he smelled like gingerbread' and 'climb them like a tree'. The second in particular makes the author's voice louder than the characters' voices. It's also a bit confusing that both main characters use the phrase where as when it was first introduced only one of the characters said it.
