Hmm. I seem to have completed my GR reading challenge early. Guess I'll extend my goal for the remainder of the year.

For the record, I don't recommend waiting 5 months to review books. Took me some TIME sorting through the backlogged titles on my "Currently Reading" shelf. Lo, and behold! I'm no longer behind for the 2020 Reading Challenge. (Go figure.)

Oh, wow. Long lull. Now, I need to reconstruct 4 months of sporadic reading/re-reading. Expect a sudden activity burst once I double-check the manga shelves.

Having (somehow) met my deadlines, I predict a steady uptick in manga reading over the next few weeks. I've earned a pre-NaNoWriMo indulgence! ::twinkle::

Found the first three volumes of this manga at a thrift store and tossed them in my basket. Sort of amused (and maybe a little pleased) to see the story open with a couple of wolves getting their nestle on.

Half-human pretty boys with no sense of modesty ... managing to be cute & innocent. D'aww.

I recently procured all seventeen volumes of 07-Ghost, which shall be my reward if I can wrap up all the details on this manuscript. At least, that was the plan. What was meant to be incentive is turning out to be a formidable temptation! (Must. Resist.)

It's not uncommon in fandom to have some nefarious person abscond with a story and post it as their own. This is the first time I've had someone try to abscond with me. Who knew working under a penname could lead to other people claiming I'm them?

This goes against my longstanding policy: "Play fair. Be nice. Have fun!"

My manga reading has always been erratic at best, with weeks of binge reading followed by sudden lulls. (Also, I read less when I hit focus-mode with a writing project.) Let's see if I can't catch up to my year's writing goal. Only 38 volumes behind? Pssh. Piece of cake. ::twinkle::

Aaah! Volume 8 of The Ancient Magus's Bride just arrived, which usually inspires a re-read of the earlier volumes to make sure I haven't forgotten any little details or developments. (A routine that becomes increasingly awkward when a series heads into the double digits.)

Today's a big deal. It's release day for Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox! Thanks to everyone who's celebrating with me.

We've heard it over and again: books are better than their movies. It's been my covert delight to rediscover this pithy statement holds true where manga and anime are concerned.

The upshot ... I'll likely be buying a lot of manga in 2018.

Not that I *need* an excuse for a manga binge, but I was sooo close to meeting my goal for the year. Four left! ::twinkle::

I'm slowly adding and organizing my manga collection on this account. I have so many I want to reread! Maybe I'll do a reading challenge in 2018.

Clearly I underestimated how much manga I read in a year. Since I blew through my Reading Challenge goal of 50, I upped it to 100. ::twinkle::

I knew about the Bunny Drop kerfuffle going in. In fact, it's the reason I wanted to read the manga. I found the 10-years-later twist to be completely in character and lovingly handled by the author. Loved it. Wholeheartedly.

Must be in the mood for Rumiko Takahashi. Pulled my copy of Maison Ikkoku (vol1) off the shelf this morning for a reread.

Clearly I am on a CLAMP kick this winter. : 3
