Mind-blowing - I have no words. If this isn't the great American novel, then I don't know what is. The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men are my favourite books, this one might make the list too. Terrifying, mesmerising... I both want to put it down because of the horrors of humanity depicted in it, and continue reading because of the beauty of the prose.
