I can never get tired of Archer’s style! Loving it!

Listening to my first Audiobook. It’s kinda weird experience to begin with. Let’s see how I feel at the end of it.

“Neil even knows that by being beyond God’s awareness, he is not loved by God in return. This doesn’t affect his feelings either, because unconditional love asks nothing, not even that it be returned.
And though it’s been many years that he has been in Hell, beyond the awareness of God, he loves Him still. That is the nature of true devotion.”

“Penetrating computer security is really quite dull; I can see how it might attract those who can’t resist a challenge to their cleverness, but it’s not intellectually aesthetic at all. It’s no different than tugging on the doors of a locked house until you find an improperly installed lock. A useful activity, but hardly interesting.”

“Hillalum said nothing. For the first time, he knew night for what it was: the shadow of the earth itself, cast against the sky.”

Sigh! Last 4 pages! Don’t want this romance to end :-(

And lo! Just 8 pages later, an even bigger twist comes! This book will keep surprising me till its last written word, I guess!

OH MY GOD!!! Can my mind BE (Chandler voice) blown any further?! It is already scrambled to bits. But I won’t be surprised if it is grounded to an even finer dust because after revelation of secret after secret I keep telling myself “what could be hidden deeper than this!” and again & again I find myself gasping even louder!!!

I am now reading the story from the point of view of a fourth character and what amazes me is that Christopher Priest even has a different writing style and narrative tone for all the four main characters! That is so remarkable!

So vivid! It is as if it is all happening right in front of me! I swear, I can “see” and “live” this book!

Just 50 pages in and this book has already blown my mind to bits and pieces!

If ever I’d write a book in my life, I am going to try and imitate so much of this book’s writing style! Loved the way it is written. At times, I don’t even care about the story because the prose feels so beautiful and engrossing! Been constantly rereading the words to absorb each and every one of them!
