Seems interesting, but the god talk right away is a bit of a turn off for me...

So far I find myself dragging my feet with this book. Not sure if it will be finished or not...

I am... really struggling with this one. The story seems to be intriguing, but the constant jumping from PoV, even mid-sentence makes it increasingly difficult to parse. So far it reads more like telling, not showing. I'm disappointed because I really want to like this book.

So I just started reading a new book. And by started, I mean I anxiously awaited the release of this book after reading the previous six in the series. I’m early off in the series, not even a full chapter in, but it’s off to a great start. It picks up where the last book, Black Heart, ends, but it works well in this case. All in all, it’s an exciting start for me. Come back for a full review soon. ♥

Is it bad that I want to like this book more than I am? I feel like since it's such a classic that I should adore it, but so far... I dunno. I'm feeling ambivalent about it.

This book is so hard to get into, but I'm sticking it out. It was a deal I made with my daughter. I picked a book for her and she picked one for me. This is the one she picked out for me to read.

POV error right at the start. If she is wearing a coat that is only slightly open then how can he know what she is wearing underneath and how well it fits? So far this is off to an interesting start though.

Um. I'm pretty clumsy and have bitten my lip, cheek, and tongue before but it takes a lot to get the tongue to bleed and it hurts long before there is any blood.... Lip I would believe, but the tongue? Not so much...

So far this is adorable. Hope is a fun and likable main character. Can't wait to read more in the morning...

Eeep. Stomach churning violence here. It's good, but oh god, that was gross.

I want to like this book but so far I just... don't.

Yay for condom talk, not so thrilled with the whole "okay, we're clean, who needs a condom?" And seriously, Miles is trying to be decent and not take advantage and Lara doesn't care (though really she is in no way in a state where she can feasibly give consent).

Miles has fancy new powers, of a sorts, yet is still all up with the tech and stuff. I love that.

Ugh. Text speak annoys me in real life. You can imagine how much more annoying it is in a book. Especially when the two characters texting back and forth use the exact same way of typing it out. Excuse me while I get twitchy...

One page in and I'm already really liking this book. It's off to a fast start and full of personality!

There are parts that are so sweet and then there are parts that I just can't stand. I mean really.

Why are half the epigraphs so far quotes from Fable?

So far, there is slut-shaming and a guy who is apparently "God's gift to women" who is only after the girl because she supposedly gives it up to all the football players. I just... wow.
