I’m only on page 58, and I find myself wanting to read slower and slower because I don’t want to rush through a single word. School has trained me to read so quickly—to extract, analyze, annotate, synthesize, and move on to the next thing. This book feels like a much-needed break from all of that. I’m savoring it. And perhaps the greatest compliment I can give a book about writing: it makes me want to write.
