Loving it so far. I don't know why it has a mediocre review on Amazon.

It's funny how life experience colors your perception. There are layers to these stories that I never even noticed 10 years ago.

The Original Folk and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm: The Complete First Edition
Some of these stories are a real slog. Stuff just happens randomly, usually to women who don't do what they're told. You can see why the Brothers Grimm heavily edited future editions. Most of the stories are entertaining.

Let the Old Dreams Die: Stories
Let the Old Dreams Die. We have new ones. Such a beautiful way to conclude Let the Right One In, and tie up some loose ends. A love story wrapped in another love story.

Tindalos. Wow. Another great story that could have easily been made into a novella. You can tell he loves writing certain characters. The good stories are excellent, and the bad ones are just really bad.

Final Processing, from Handling the Dead. I did not read the original novel, but now I'm interested. It did not end at all like I thought it would, which was great, and so beautiful. Loved the 2 main characters.

To Put My Arms.... was just odd. No idea what was going on there. Majken was good, kind of a Usual Suspects thing but with old women

Read The Substitute, kind of a pale Philip k Dick story, not very good. And Eternal/Love, a Faustian story of a man sacrificing everything for a chance at immortality.

Equinox was chilling. Very eerie and love how the author gets you inside this awful woman's thought process. Itsy Bitsy was just ok, another weak story.

Finished the Border, and Village in the Sky. Border was amazing, Village in the Sky was kind of weak and predictable.

I love seeing all the variations on different fairy tales like Bluebeard.

I'm onto the non fiction essays, really great stuff. I loved just about every single short story!

Another whopper of a fairy tale. Basically, don't complain so much, otherwise your jerk dad (the king) will marry you off to some loser because you have no say in the matter (so suck it up).

I read the intro and the first 3 short stories. Really fantastic stuff, we'll worth the $3.99 for Kindle!
