I just came SO CLOSE to DNFing this one, I literally stopped to Google & make sure it wasn't about to go "teehee, she was crazy the whole time."

Very interesting content; so bored of the academic language of "interiority." The ebook edition is a bit hard done by in the scans of the art the text discusses.

This does not really read as journalism, but as a really bleak, fairly interesting memoir.

Unfortunately, it seems like it's mostly a memoir of the author's tragic descent into alcoholism as he attempts to cover the Trump campaign. I feel like it has taken place entirely within a bar, or in a throng of screaming people, having just attempted to get shitfaced in a bar. It's definitely an aesthetic.

I just started this today, but I feel comfortable saying that it's going to completely change my life. If you're into any sort of fiber art or probably any other craft where you work with your hands, see if you can get it from your library.

On blocking: "The fabric will always stretch more and require more pins, and the whole task will take longer to complete than one expects." I love books with the sort of tone where I expect them to say, "Now what are you doing, not helping your cousins set the table?"

Bridget is reading this to me? I have an increasingly strong sense that it is about to get REALLY DEPRESSING and I am NOT PLEASED.

Tori is finished with Emily Post's Complete Book of Wedding Etiquette Including Planner: Emily Post's Wedding Planner
There is an increasing trend towards coed showers. "This type of shower, however, must be restricted to things that interest both the bride and the groom -- for instance, a barbecue shower. A lingerie or bathroom shower would be distinctly out of place." Idk, I bet a lot of grooms would manage to sit through a lingerie shower despite their OBVIOUS DISINTEREST.

well the horrors of war are pretty much exactly as advertised. I DESPERATELY need to find a book on WWI after this is over, because I know absolutely nothing about it besides "mustard gas" and "trenches."
