Ugh. On page 48 there is a completely wrong description about what to do if a black bear attacks. You stand tall and DO fight if necessary. Mostly they'll run off. A grizzly, yes, minimize the risk.
But the character specifically mentions black bears.
BTW, bear attacks are very very rare.

These people are all awful.

6. Lots of repetition. Too much repetition, sometimes even in the same sentence.
7. I love dogs too, a lot, but why does every person that meets the dog have to acknowledge and pander it. Why do we have to learn every little thing about what the dog does. Plus, how did the dog belly up to the door, and then back? Why is this even appropriate wording?

2. How is plush carpet and plants masculine or modern. This book was from 2015. Who install carpet anymore?
3. Everyone seems so careless.
4. Since when does Scotland Yard, which is the London Metro Police, have anything to do with being Scottish? Why is is being equated with MI6 or the FBI? It is more in line with the New York Police Department.

I am reading this book because it is all I have around while I am out of books. I was my mother's, and she loved Fern Michaels.

I hate it so far.

1. Is the kitchen manly because it has stainless steel appliances? Don't most kitchens now?

Ugh. First person. I hate first person POV. This is the reason I hated the Alex Cross books so much.

I like Sean Spicer. He had a truly impossible job.

But as he tells the stories of his excellent private school education, he has twice misused the word "myself".

Robert Service was writing about Yukon, not Alaska. This kind of bugs me.
In my decades in the north, it was never as terrifying as described in this book.
