I like this book but it could have used an edit to eliminate the repetition.
Robert Service was writing about Yukon, not Alaska. This kind of bugs me.
In my decades in the north, it was never as terrifying as described in this book.
Not near the end, but in real life this intervention to help Cora would ultimately get her killed.
