Is it just me, or does this sound crazy similar to Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi? Haven’t read either, but I keep mixing up which is which, although Adeyemi’s cover is so bewwwtifool~ I had the same problem with Tahir’s An Ember in the Ashes and Jennifer Jenkins’ Nameless, even after reading both... But ASH PRINCESS has been super promising so far!

I know I'm not being fair to pick this up after my reread of Archangel's Heart (I can't believe Prophecy is coming out five months later. Fiiivvveee) and being in a teeny Raphael/Elena withdrawal, but I'm in my withdrawals so please alleviate this, Vlad. <3

Day 5: Um, magically brand each other.

Cool descriptions, but a little too much... 3 consecutive pages of describing the surroundings on my iPhone's iBook, 1 line of the protagonist doing something then descriptions again. Gah! Aaaand, I don't think Kas is the nickname for Kasumi, since Japanese don't pronounce S alone, it's usually accompanied by a U. So it should either be Kasu (which is weird), or Sumi. Oh well! Guess I'm a little anal sometimes.

Oooookay, was expecting more of fantastic, olden Japan rather than futuristic-olden, steampunk Japan-ish world. Not gonna judge whether it's good of bad yet tho! And luckily I watched my fair share of animes so I understand all those Japanese words! Yōkai, Shogun, oni...yokata ne! 私わ少しわかりました! ;)

Paige is seriously rockin ma boots. There are spurts and bursts of action, but up till here, there are so many revelations that it makes up for the lack of it! I'm still awaiting for the romance bit to come out from it's hiding tho, cause I heard that there would be a hint of it in this one. ;)
