I was approved for an arc and I was just going take a quick peek at the first couple of pages... but I lured in further by Broder's lush voice

For some reason I thought this would be easy breezy, swashbuckling, popcorn, space opera. Instead it's my favourite kind of scifi, the kind that drops you in the deep end of an alien universe and slowly reveals its secrets.

"Oh no", indeed 😹

I thought bk#1 was a bit clunky, but the bonkers world building and cozy charm sucked me in. This sequel feels like the authors at their best, I've laughed out loud repeatedly.

Like many, I'm still not a fan of the bookcovers. I think we should petition the authors to hire the artist Tommy Arnold to reimagine them.

You never know where a Sarah Gailey short story will take you. Tiger Lawyer Gets It Right was fabulous, unapologetically bold and brash. Hopefully they'll release a collection of their stories one day, I'd love to own a physical copy of my favourite short story STET.
