mfw i get to page 40 of a book before realizing the main character is a man lmaooo

if this man says 'war of attrition' one more time 😒

AT must've been a wee babe himself when he wrote this cuz Stenwold is so unintentionally funny. hes all 'ooh im so old oh im ancient im decrepit and ive aged beyond all usefulness blah blah blah'. and then the narration is like 'Stenwold is 40 years old'. 😂 i realize you're exhausted but brother you are middle aged at best.

me: yeah this isn't really my thing
me 2 hours and 150 pages later after sitting down to read for 20 minutes: what is happening to me

this is emphatically not for me but i don't dislike it enough that i don't want to know how it ends lol. we're just gonna keep reading it at a snail's pace i guess 🤷

i hope all my friends have someone in their life who loves them as much as adrian tchaikovsky loves bugs

i know i say this about like every book i read but im nervous

this is stressing me tf out 😭😭😭😭

im really enjoying this so far but wow. i do not think mr weir knows any teachers irl because he is completely deluded about how much they swear when they're off duty lmao

me most of the time: yeah wings of fire is pretty good. they feel a little too juvenile in places but i enjoy them a lot.

me when im reading wings of fire: ehehehehehehehe dragon book yes yes yes yay yippee dragon dragon dragon dragon hehehehe

bro this is really good????

it's not like we didn't already know henry viii was a huge asshole but. 😬 he's such an asshole that i'm embarrassed for him. like i was born 400 years after he died and yet i'm embarrassed to have lived on the same planet as him. if aliens ever visited earth i would be covering up all evidence of him. I PROMISE NOT ALL HUMANS ARE LIKE THAT WE'RE NICE REALLY!

I have to go to bed or I'll die of regret tomorrow but one very unexpected thing about this is that I don't think I've ever read a book where so much puking happened. I feel so bad for everyone here for that reason alone.

all right so maybe i started complaining too soon but i still don't think this should have been a trilogy at all. the first book was nearly perfect and didn't need a sequel let alone two. but dammit i am enjoying it anyway.

😒 unclear if this will redeem itself or continue to annoy me 😒😒😒😒😒

when am i gonna learn to stop picking up fantasy by white men. smdh at myself

bro i cannot suspend my disbelief enough for this. what is this kid's dad DOING. sir please take a parenting class!

so far the only fun and/or interesting thing about this book is that one of the main characters is an annoying billionaire who thinks he is so much better and smarter and more competent than everyone else and yet he is currently creating a cover up that has so so so many holes in it

boy howdy i sure am hoping something happens in this book at some point

thank the LORD this is almost over

"im not flirting," he flirted flirtily

"neither am i," she flirted back, flirtatiously

gag me with a spoon 🙄🙄🙄

i try not to outright reject books simply due to them being romance (im reading this for a work project [i work at a library]) but boy howdy. i do not like romance.

not to be dramatic but this is one of the best fantasy books of all time

hello again maia my perfect boy!

this is a complete and utter trainwreck and yet i keep returning to it. i am going to write such a mean review when i finally give up on it

ms solomons please where is the real tybalt and who is this man 😩

oh i just know this author is a fellow titanic nerd
