Opens with an author's note disparaging the fact someone called him out on how blantantly sexist the series has been & clearly pissed him off. While Dor is still a better character Anthony goes out of his way to create insulting situations for females in this book it's not just sexist it's childish, like a spoiled little brat who doesn't like being told he's done wrong. Currently he's making light of attempted rape.

That lyric thing is really getting on my nerves.

That's some spectacularly bad parenting right there.

I just now had the chance to actually start this. I wasn't expecting there to be a fourth book when I first read the third but I appreciate that the series needed one. I like how this picks up right where the third book left off.

I've been sitting at 92 percent for a few days and just haven't had the time to listen to that last 8 percent yet.

See this is where you can tell they're kids because one life is not more important than the whole. This whole scenario was lousy battle strategy and an illogical choice.

The bridge scene with the drug addicts is so vivid. I really do like Sharon's character so far. I can't remember if he stays good or not, its been too long since I've read this.

I never realized how entitled these kids are on my first read-through. It's not Sharon's job to take care of them.

I kind of love Jacob's pet Hollow. Does that make me a bad person?

I've been meaning to start this for days but haven't had the time. They just escaped the subway station and it's a great opening, but the delay between books took me a few minutes to remember then end of the previous novel.

I remember why I enjoyed this series so much.

That's a very different version of Cuffburt's story than the one in the version of the Tales available to the rest of us.

Depressing for them to lose everything so early in the journey.

Finally, Emma is in the story.

I'm still in the slower part of the story before we actually learn the peculiar children are real.

I can see where they're going with this story, but I'm divided between the points of view of a girl with no future beyond that of a wife and mother and a parent that needs his child to listen to him for their own good.

These fables are about as twisted as the original Grimm's

I'm still not sure what I think of this book. It's like I don't get enough time with any of the characters to really know them which makes me feel really distant from the story and I'm fairly certain I know the answer to the mystery since about a quarter of the way in and I'm just waiting to find out for sure.

I imagine I'd feel the same if I'd had a daughter in that time period, knowing that she'd never have choices or freedom. That said it's not right to avoid her daughter because she doesn't like to think about Anna's future. I don't really feel like I know Harriet well and I'm not completely sure I like her.

The Cartwright, Crowther seen is a bit confusing, trying to keep the characters straight. I wish the last names were a bit more distinctive. I'm pretty sure I've got the ending all figured out.

We're at 3 bodies and counting. I'm pretty sure I already know who the killer is, but we'll see.
