Ryan K is 25% done with Power Questions - Build Relationships, Win New Business and Influence Others
Having majored (concentrated actually) in questions, this was an appealing title. It blends essential questions for building relationships and sustaining them through crucial conversations using critical Socratic questions. What it elucidates well in the first third is the power dynamic involved with asking questions and the very different kind of power that results from the well-spring that results.

Mayor Daley controlled my hometown for much of my memorable life. I am just old enough to remember the election of his real predecessor, Mayor Harold Washington, and the religious fever that swept the Black Chicago community life wildfire leaving barren earth upon death. As such, Mayor Daley entered city torn with racial strife and economic divestment.

First chapter down. Tea party vs. the dems...well it’s seems the real victory was redesigning the districting map which should ensure victory for years to come. The author is pretty tough on Obama for not leaving machinery and place at the Democratic Party to use to succeed in the future. TBD

I don’t know how I came to this book. Not true. I had a conversation with a friend who worked for him. She did not recommend the book. Rather she painted a fascinating picture of the man. I’m at a time when I am thinking about impacting my city and what I will leave behind. And love him and loathe him few have done more to Chicago than Rich. I am half way through. It more about policy than the man. TBC
