An hour and a half left in the (13+ hour) novel and it checks itself back into the library and is no longer offered on the audiobook list. Sigh and argh, this is one going to have to be on pause for a minute!

Essays, speeches and book forwards Neil has written about libraries, books, comics and a variety of topics. It's delightful!

The first 4 were quick and fun. I can now start this story having the full series background.

I didn't realize when I chose this book I was making a commitment in lines of War And Peace, laugh! I can't say I've ever considered the length of the book when deciding whether or not to select a book to read, but I literally felt my eyes get wide when CloudLibrary (new to me app) showed 30 hours remaining, what the... I had to come back to goodreads to check, yep. I better make more coffee.

This book doesn't seem to be clicking for me, at least not right now. I don't think I'm going to finish it. I'm not sure if it is the book or the narrator.

It was clear within minutes that I'm going to need to purchase this edition with Simon Vance as narrator, install it on every device we own and play it on auto-repeat for the rest of our days. While these life tenets may be familiar, a repeat with Pooh and friends is a delight in relaxation and joy.

While this part of the series is (I later discovered) considered for 'Young Adult' I thought the first book funny and engaging for all. This book, as it was likely intended, is very much a book about and for an adolescent. Not quite as compelling as the first, which became evident to me when my audio checkout from the library checked itself back in having hit the deadline unnoticed with holiday distractions.

Just finished the third novel in this Library of Congress volume of four. I give The Custom of the Country 2 stars. I'm apparently about done with turn of last century society... The final novel is The Age of Innocence set in the 1870's. I'm not holding out much hope this will be a page turner, but we'll see.

Just finished the second book in this volume of four named, "The Reef". I liked it - 3 stars. I found it interesting for the time it was written, but the ending might have been more... Next up "The Custom of the Country", which sounds like it will be a bit more entertaining.

Just finished "The House of Mirth". The writing and ending were really well done. Wow. Next up is "The Reef".
