This book is so, so heavy.

The brooding chauvinism and internalized misogyny are making me feel ill.
It's harder to stomach what the carriers go through.
This book is changing my brain chemistry.

I'm so tense. The writing is descriptive but not flowery - it hits you in a way you can almost feel. The magnolia tree scene is going to stay with me.

😆This book is funnier than I expected!

There is SO much going on right now. So many plots and characters and subplots. If Game of Thrones and Skyrim had a baby, it would be similar to this book.

I may need to reread the first chapter and take notes on names and races. There is so much world-building here. I love being thrown into the throes of something. Instant immersion and curiosity.
