This book is so, so heavy.

The brooding chauvinism and internalized misogyny are making me feel ill.
It's harder to stomach what the carriers go through.
This book is changing my brain chemistry.

I'm so tense. The writing is descriptive but not flowery - it hits you in a way you can almost feel. The magnolia tree scene is going to stay with me.

...I am so disturbed.
