Her talent brought her travel around the world at the special time and made her a very special Indonesian traditional dancer.
She met Burma's King and felt in love, one of her dancers troupes was also a Jewish. This lady had a special life.

Bought this book over Christmas from US and hooked since last night when I started reading it.

Interesting book about Krakatao.

I did not know that Bung Karno's mother is a Balinese until I read this book.

I do not like the book :( and I abandoned this book.

One thing has not changed until this second mentioned about Jakarta since 1971;
Page 3 - 4 : "We drove alongside the huge canal that bisects Jalan Nusantara, the town's main artery. The canal is filled knee high with trash, waste and brown muddy water. For those without facilities in their bamboo shacks, it's used as a community washing trough. It's also used as a toilet. ...".

I enjoy this book so much. I watched the film few weeks ago and the book is definitely so much better than the film.

Read it when I was at the train and I knew that I will like this book. This is a moving true story book of an Iranian woman as a survival inside a torture jail 'Evin'.
