It said he has written 41 books. This one is as good as all I have read. They are on Catalina, with Detective Stilwell, as the good guy. Plenty suspects of the bad guys. He has a helper, Ballard, that is in other books by Connelly. Waiting for the next book by him.

On the library website of new books there are mystery/thrillers and there are literature. This was the literature category to me. Sybil writes letters to a LOT of people and they answer. Family, friends, authors and businesses. The timeline hops around which makes sense at the end but it took a while. Can’t say I enjoyed it but it kept my interest. And would be good to discuss.

Interesting story if you like sci-fi. This is my third story and least favorite. The others had a lot of cute characters and fun dialogue. And good discussion points, not this one.

Not as long as the other books I have waiting

This was a long book. Not very nice subject for Christmas. But, I wasn’t expecting it to be. Small town and something bad happens. Who did it. Karin Slaughter is a really good writer. Things are wrapped up in the end.

Quit on Day 2. This is book #25, so I was missing a lot of the back story and characters. Plus, I like audio and this is very Scottish. And the book had Scottish words I could not figure out. Good plot before I quit

Last book was sweet, this one has a murder in chapter 1.

# 18 of Armand Gamache series. This might be my favorite!
A letter, hidden room and so many suspects.
From the beginning you guess who it is but then are wrong, again and again. So good.

Good plots. Lots of mystery and wondering what will happen next. But something is missing for me. Character development maybe….

Orphan X is a unique character. Like Reacher or Dirk Pitt. This one received mixed reviews. It did have a different kind of plot but still 5* for me. Love a book that keeps me asking what next..

Exciting little town. Mystery, but nice group of ladies dealing with it.

Always a fun read. Good mystery but not too complicated. Just what I needed in January. Starts with a personal problem for Stephanie :-)

First I can handle some profanity but there is a limit.
Next, actions have consequences.
I read mystery/ thrillers so maybe I shouldn’t read romance no matter how good the reviews are?

Not a book for everybody….

I like John Grisham. Normal people. Not an action page turner. Just a really good story. It reads like a non fiction book. Of course it is a courtroom plot, but there is plenty out of the courtroom also.

Don’t think I can write a review. Not sure what it was about. Some parts were cute and the characters likeable and quirky. I guess my complaint is where was it going. BTW I really like Dean Koontz and his writing.

Started, quit, trying again. 7/30. I wonder why he is not on hoopla or Libby.

I don’t usually read non-fiction. This book was well written so I enjoyed the history lesson. A bit repetitive but a true story has to tell the truth. And actually in real life the story happened over and over.

Nope…. Too repetitive, too whiny, too many people not being honest. Good writer but…..

Good story! Since I read both it was fun. I don’t understand the bad reviews, it is a short story! Don’t know what they expected out of a few chapters.
Will on TV is not 6’2” &185 lbs. like in the book😂
