I’ve been delayed in its consumption due to the season of horror and haunted houses, but I remain diligent. Some progress. And there is no rest for these action packed pages!

One motley new band of hunters. Especially in such an apocalyptic setting.

The third installment comes out in November, so I should probably read this next.

I will savor these last hundred pages.

This book is so well thought out.

This book is so damn good. Gabriel de Lion is one bad ass antihero.

If this doesn’t scream Castlevania, I’m not sure what else could. It was great to see one of the first true hunts in this story. The detail was vivid and visceral. Enjoyment every step of the way. It’s nice to see that other authors are influenced by Castlevania. The same can be seen in my own work, praised and criticized.

One thing that’s a nice touch to novels like this is the smattering of artwork that appears throughout. Especially when it makes sense. Jean Francios is the chronicler and artist documenting everything.

This story is very similar to IT. I’m loving it.

The Bane. The Quisitor. Witch hunting. Already this second book seems more promising than the last. Great build up of what’s to come, and more on the Spook and who he is/was. Dark priests. Gothic dread set in a medieval era.

Thomas Ward and certainly gained some confidence in the last six months. His first binding. And already cleared the warning on the back of the book.

Traveling at the moment. In Atlanta Georgia, visiting some nature sights. Try to get some reading done this afternoon. Then off to the aquarium.

Trying to decide to continue Empire of the Vampire or start the next book in the Last Apprentice series…

Seventh son of a seventh son.
In a way, this story reads like Harry Potter. I like it. It possesses dark undertones of loneliness, a forced coming of age and abandonment of family circumstances, and the hard realization to grow up quickly, what hard work and persistence can turn into.

7th son of a 7th son, 7th son of a 7th sooooooooon.
I keep singing the Iron Maiden song in my head every time I see these words.
Certainly a dark and mysterious read so far.

It’s like Interview with a vampire with reversed roles.

Already on page 27 and am ENTHRALLED. It’s been on my TBR pile for some time. Decided finally to start. And here we go. This book is GOTHIC and loving it.

At page 400 and heading into the weekend…

I’m trying to understand why these outer-isle nations have tests for diplomats seeking a mere audience, let alone an alliance. It’s absurd to me. And their blatant disregard for safety of the world. Strange. Also, when I read fantasy, I like to follow the journey using a map. There is no map for these island nations. Frustrating. Are you like me, or do you not care for cartography in fantasy books?

Aside from the book being very smutty, it certainly has better qualities then its predecessors. At least, they are going somewhere this time. No more Basiagath College. Thank Malek.

Binged 100 pages over the weekend. I shouldn’t have, but I did. And how I feel so much better about. This book is certainly going to make my top three list. I can smell it.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited about a book. Finished watching the YOU series on Netflix (one of the best) and it really came full circle. I’m not even finished with this book and already am a fan of Caroline Kepnes. Need to start watching Dexter again (which I am).

Finally. Something has happened. Someone was burned to death. Ironically/impressively it wasn’t by dragon fire…

I have not stopped reading this book every chance I get. It is Similar to my Netflix experience. This story, narrative, is exemplary. I wish I knew more author’s like this.

Finally a book worth reading. Refreshing!

I hope things are sped up in this installment. The last one was…slow, slowish, slug-like?

Lots of redundancy in this book. Look I know you feel like a whore being with Rhysand instead of Tamlin. I get it. Please STOP saying it every chapter…..
