I’ve read fanfictions written by 13 year old girls that are better than this. Only a dozen pages in and I’ve already spotted ten grammatical errors and the monologue of the FMC is her describing herself as “plain” and “nerdy”. I can already predict the plot from the introduction alone. But alas, I will push through in hopes the story might be redeemable.

this book is a hard read solely because it hits very accurately on what it is like to have trauma change you fundamentally. from the fear of intimacy to the change of ability to communicate, this author hits the mark on life after assault. i'm excited but nervous to finish this book.

someone give this book to a younger, past version of me.

i think this book is touching my soul in places it hasn't been touched in a long time, if ever. truly beautiful so far. it really touches the most human and vulnerable parts of a person. "life is short, and all we have to offer in the end, is love."
