I thought it started out well, but reading more of it I'm frustrated. The writing style is weird and stilted, like every sentence has to be a piece of poetry, it gets annoying! I can't imagine finishing this whole book it's so long and the story isn't very compelling yet . Saint also seems so narcissistic to me and her actions bring up a lot of religious trauma I went through

The writing is not bad but there are just, little things that bother me and don't make sense. Calvin the pedophile, I dont understand how the case has so much media attention and primetime without murder involved or child trafficking. I know what he did is despicable but it doesn't make any sense to me. A HANDSOME (of course) white dude, in real life this wouldn't even cause a stir unless he was like a serial killer

It's not the weirdness that's the problem with this book, it's the writing. It reads like a YA novel for 5th graders except it includes bits of gore and sex. To me, it reads like a dieted version of Angela Carter, Silvina Ocampo, or Leonara Carrington, who actually do know how to make the bizarre and transgressive work to their advantage in their works of literature...

Honestly I am bored with this book

First the author is self diagnosed and not an actual clinician, which in itself is a problem. I think if Price actually did get an assessment done he would have narcissistic and socipathic traits. Self diagnosis is good initially, but you need an official diagnosis otherwise it's just a theory and I do NOT agree because from our own human perspective we are inherently biased. Autism is not a label anyone can just use

I am deeply mourning the loss of my animal family member, my cat Rocky, my sweet baby boy. I was and still am profoundly attached to him. This grief is unlike anything I have ever experienced before and that is saying a lot. I have gone through immense trauma and loss throughout my life and nothing compares to this. This book is helping me immensely during this time and I am grateful for the author's words.

Soooo tempted to not finish by my pride won' allow it... the unrealistic dialogue is grating to say the least, in particular the fact that there is an overuse of using each other's names when speaking.

Ex:) "Lyle I believe you..."

"They believe you, Lyle.."

"All of it matters, Lyle"

This isn't even all of them, but even half. Same conversation from the character occurring on one page. It's driving me crazy
