This is second book by Dom Joly that I've read, the other being "The Dark Tourist" really enjoyed and recommend that too!

Still going. There are parts of this book that are really fascinating, parts that are laborious and heavy going. In a way, I'm finding that reading this, with respect is a little like walking in the trenches themselves. Sticky, heavy going. Exhilarating. But also hard, exhausting and difficult.

Although real and visceral, Jünger writes with a beauty too.

Just getting into Storm of Steel. So far I really enjoying it.

Jüngger writes beautifully! The prose is rich in detail, flows wonderfully. Very evocative and totally human.

I can see myself rereading and recommending this book a lot!!

I read a lot on the subject of War and conflict. Can honestly say "Storm of "Steel" is one of the best books on WWI I've read to date! More to follow as we advance.

Tough subject, written very well and it flows naturally.

Just been reading about Psyche and Eros, bit like a Fairy tale. Now I'm on to Phaeton and his complex parents, Pheobus Apollo. Erm the Son of the Sun.

Brilliant fun

Finally got stuck in to Stephen Fry's new book and its brilliant... Engrossing, in-depth, funny and very readable. Was slightly worried before opening the book that it would be too complicated, or like walking in a chest high Bog. Each time you try to move you just get stuck further and further in.

I was wrong! So wrong I am almost too embarrassed to admit it. Great stories with Mr Fry as your Sat Nav "Perfect"
