Still going. There are parts of this book that are really fascinating, parts that are laborious and heavy going. In a way, I'm finding that reading this, with respect is a little like walking in the trenches themselves. Sticky, heavy going. Exhilarating. But also hard, exhausting and difficult.
Although real and visceral, Jünger writes with a beauty too.

Just getting into Storm of Steel. So far I really enjoying it.
Jüngger writes beautifully! The prose is rich in detail, flows wonderfully. Very evocative and totally human.
I can see myself rereading and recommending this book a lot!!
I read a lot on the subject of War and conflict. Can honestly say "Storm of "Steel" is one of the best books on WWI I've read to date! More to follow as we advance.
