I, um, ran out of audiobook listening hours on Spotify so now I'm on hold to check this book out on Libby lol. So close!

4.5 but rounding this nerve-wracking book up! The scariest or most anxiety inducing books are those that closest resemble life today or in this case the near future. The parallels between this book & our society really paint a vivid picture that draws you in. I really enjoyed the writing here and the slower buildup but once we were around 60% in the thing happens and it’s wild & you must finish to see what happens!

Wow. What a line.

page 70 😭 "With electroreception, Lewis hoped to sense her, know her, and love her even thousands of miles away in the ocean."

I know this is a story about a newly wed couple and the husband turns into a great white shark shortly thereafter but if you can accept it in your mind that this is a thing that happens you will enjoy this book (so far).

Just push through the first 60 pages and it will start to make more sense!

I've read 400 pages and I feel like the story has finally just begun - __ -

DNF - 70 pages in. Too many niche jokes or references about banks, finance, wealth, etc. Just not very enjoyable so far and there’s like 300 hundred more pages to go. The guy, Barry, is too whiny, too annoying to continue reading about.
