I like the references and disclaimers encouraging to use what works for you. The cognitive behavioral exercises work for me indeed. Just slows the brain down logically.

Brian Smith is on page 104 of 256 of Harpsong (Stories and Storytellers Series) (Volume 1)
The entrance of Coy Ray makes note of ppl who where raised in Oklahoma that knowingly took advantage of the jobs killing livestock for the government. Much like the history of Oklahoma itself. Doing questionable things vindicating oneself by claiming they weren’t federal government just mere county servants.

Okay now the author is finally getting to the good part. As a native Texan it’s good to know a little about Oklahoma geography and history. The fact that Harlan admits he doesn’t know how to live “the right way” makes you realize the time period that religion had a hold on the people of the Midwest. Him also being half native makes it even more intriguing.

Brian Smith is on page 214 of 337 of A Man Called Ove
The description of Ove’s past and present is spot on the flashbacks and his behavior show you he hasn’t changed but the same security he misses with his wife is the same security he feels with his annoying neighbors. A real sense of community.
