This is a really great read about what really happened behind closed doors in the FDR administration. Scary that it is so similar to what looks like is happening now in politics. @amityshlaes I have a brain crush on you.

as I read this story of the Great Depression the Q2-14 GDP came in at -3%. There are so many correlations between the FDR failed New Deal and his vilification of the rich and massive regulation and government overreach and what is going on now. Amity Shlaes- a must read.

early on and I can already see similarities between the 1930s Hoover/FDR and Obama.

Great read so far. Little known fact uncovered that Operation Eclipse file discovered by Germans in winter of 1945 detailing the carving up of Germany after the war gave them no alternative but to fight to the end. The document confirmed that allies would not waver and England/US would not accept surrender terms that were not also acceptable to Russia.

so far a very interesting read and refreshing as to see a president committed to lowering the debt of the government, getting out of the way of commerce and having faith in the people.

David Carraturo is on page 226 of 352 of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher: A Political Marriage
excellent account of many aspects to the Reagan-Thatcher relationship I never even knew existed. So much that goes on at the top levels of diplomacy. A bit of a dry read, but I will finish it and it is definitely worth the read.

Simply an incredible book so far. I was expecting it to be dry with lots of data and detail, but it is told so vividly and each and every aspect is engrossing.
