reading anything by or about Anne Carson brings me immeasurable joy.....life has meaning again

I'm dreading finishing this book I want to read it forever

I love M. Emanuel he's so silly

I love this book unfortunately Lucy Snowe is so relatable to me

Lucy is such a gossip but only with the reader I love it

what tf is wrong with Madame Beck all these characters are insane

4 chapters in and I know very little about Lucy Snowe except that she is quite dislikable

I love Anne Carson sometimes I feel like history is something far away then she reminds me that we're in it. the ancient past is still here actually

it's actually insane how well researched this book is
