Just finished the intro. As a language teacher, I was insulted twice before I got out of it. "Barely fluent" does not describe me or my colleagues, nor are Spanish and French to be belittled for being popular and useful. I will have to read more when I'm not feeling so self-righteously annoyed.

I am having to try SO HARD to finish this! Definitely not a page turner...at least, not yet.

Loving it, but it's very challenging to read...there's no "just one chapter at bedtime." You have to have a table to spread out the artifacts, and a clear, awake mind to follow the various threads of the story.

This man is brilliant. So far, this is my favorite of his books.

Much sexier than the Amy Tan I'm used to. Up to now, it reads very similarly in plot to Memoirs of a Geisha. I'm hopeful that will change soon.

I'm slowly making my way through it--I'm on the 'F' section. A brilliant idea. Every problem you can think of, from the serious to the frivolous, has a recommended novel to "cure" it. Love it!

It's hurting my wrists to hold it for too long! I'm loving it, though!
