Honestly it was a bit hard to get into. But now they are fighting starfishes and fucking a pirate wherecats so I am here for it

Hotdamn! Queer poc rep!! Confirmed genderfluid character, 100% bi maincharacter. Possible bi latina but I think she is more lesbian. And a gloriously awkward romance between the bi main and someone who's pronouns are they/them. It is so great so far, people riding hippos does weird things with my brain (which is mentally trying to shift it to horses. I am so here for it

So in the third book it is Cha Fe end not Chave anymore hmmmm, this and the dogg issue with the second books makes me think that there is something to be one with continuity checking. Possibly a narrating issue tho but still

It has so many good bits but I feel like I am missing big chunks, like how did they come to the conclusion that the minister of war is responsible? and who's secondaries ran away after Miles got away and also how did they figure out he was back and escaped?

Tho being a kinda on his own skeptical dick he does protect those weaker than him. Also there are good jokes woven into the story

There is also the wondering how it wouls be to make love out to this woman who tried to kill him bit that came out of nowhere. Thinking back his other behaviour could be interpreted as Khad trying to convince himself to not form bonds with people, but for an adult person to have an inner monologue of not particularly liking a person and then after a while kiss her... Kinda like a kid having the "eww cooties" reaction

I think he is not incredibly likeable at all. That said the story is good. Great worldbuilding and the real stakes are starting to be revealed.

I really dislike Khat voor his "rape joke he didnt say out loud" in the beginning, that is not sitting well with me at all.
