He is finally letting his guard down a bit, thank the sun!

Tho being a kinda on his own skeptical dick he does protect those weaker than him. Also there are good jokes woven into the story

There is also the wondering how it wouls be to make love out to this woman who tried to kill him bit that came out of nowhere. Thinking back his other behaviour could be interpreted as Khad trying to convince himself to not form bonds with people, but for an adult person to have an inner monologue of not particularly liking a person and then after a while kiss her... Kinda like a kid having the "eww cooties" reaction

I think he is not incredibly likeable at all. That said the story is good. Great worldbuilding and the real stakes are starting to be revealed.
