So far so good. I'm enjoying this on audiobook.

I wish I didn't speed through this. I would like to be able to take in the worldbuilding, but I rushed to try to read in time for book club.

My takeaways so far: mere repetition by rereading or reviewing is not effective. Retrieval-based learning is more helpful because it forces the brain to try to remember. Learning tips that are "easy" don't help with long term learning because it's easy to forget afterwards. Learning that requires effort is good learning. Tests shouldn't be the dipstick, but rather another tool to check learning. Reflection is helpful

I will say this is an interesting historical novel for me, vert expansive in showing a character going through his life as time goes by in a country rapidly changing. He remains faithful to himself yet struggles to make sense of the world around him.

So far, it’s engaging.

I'm interested to read this because I want to get into Asimov's work and I figured a science fiction detective story could be the way to go since I love detective fiction.

Wow, this is getting intense. Beneatha is my favorite character because she reminds me so much of myself.

What a twist! Once again, another murder solved. Poirot never fails.

I'm at the part where Hercule Poirot is questioning various people about the events of Mrs. Boynton's death. I think Poirot is right that murder is wrong regardless. Although one of the people he questioned was quick to point out how he let the murderers of the Orient Express case go. Killing is truly horrible no matter what.

Wow, this is so relatable. An overbearing, manipulative mother with her adult children on leashes.

I laughed a couple times while reading this. What a wacky yet fun adventure. Arthur is so lost and yet the characters seem to play it normal when it comes to all this odd space stuff going on. Lol.

Well, that took a turn with Rufus dead.

Wow, things are getting interesting. Rufus seems to be quite the character. Some history of violence and abuse towards his white lover Leona, but there's some LGBT aspect to his character. There's the commentary on interracial relationships. Vivaldo is a good friend to him.

So far it’s interesting. Rufus seemed to be falling from grace. He’s broke in the beginning, but he was once respected. He’s a musician and he is with a white girl, Leona. They are at a party together in Harlem. We’ll see how this goes.

Wow. This was quite the novel. Loved it very much. Can't wait to re-read it again.

Wu's family achieves what they want by stepping out of the box while Wu is still stuck with this dream of becoming kung fu man.
