Exactly my jam

I expected this to be more thoughtful and interesting but it ended up being much more action-focused and with the shallowest of consideration to physics and morality. Government bad, Preble (a dumb first name) good, five seconds somehow lets Preble dodge bullets but also steer conversations, hack into systems, win at slots, etc. Pass.

I'm having a hard time working out the time, place or getting a handle on the characters for this one. Not really engaging for me, unfortunately.

This book is too busy trying to be meta and clever to realise that the relationships and characters are not compelling or engaging at all. I think 35% is all I need to call this a bust.

I've read to read one of Katia Rose's books that isn't emotional and engaging.

The writing feels deeply AI. I don't want to fling allegations but I've read a fair bit and the rule of threes, the reiterative dialogue structure, it all feels a bit like AI model writing.
