Pat is 24% done with Someone to Watch Over Me (Bow Street Runners, #1)

I’m not going to finish this book. I was interested in the Bow Street Runners. While the protagonist of this story is a Bow Street Runner, he is also the best, brooding, sexiest trope. The excessive descriptions of him and the perfectly gorgeous woman he rescues are redundant. After wading through the entire Powerless trilogy, I’m not willing to spend my time on another typical romance novel.

I’m returning this book without finishing it. I thought it was about the Bow Street Runners. While the protagonist is a Bow Street Runner, he turns out to be brooding, sexy guy. I couldn’t take the excessive, repetitive descriptions. This book reminded me why I dislike typical romance novels.

Had to return this book to the library because there was a hold on it. It’s a collection of short stories, so I can get right back into it. I put a hold on it so I’ll get it back soon.

Aug. 25 No more interruptions from other books anyway but life has been intruding. I'd love to take a day to finish this book but alas, no. It's hard to put down but when I have a chance to read I'm too tired to read much. :o(

Aug. 25 No more interruptions from other books anyway but life has been intruding. I'd love to take a day to finish this book but alas, no. It's hard to put down but when I have a chance to read I'm too tired to read much. :o(

June 17 I'm still stalled on The System of the World because I got into The Magicians trilogy by Lev Grossman.

July 21 5 books later and I'm back to The System! No more interruptions!
No more interruptions from other books but life has been intruding. I'd love to take a day to finish this book but alas, no. It's hard to put down but when I have a chance to read I'm too tired to read much. :o(

I'm enjoying this book as much as the 1st 2 volumes of The Baroque Cycle but, as before, I'm interrupting it to read a book ordered from the library. I should be back to The System of the World in a week or so.
