A fantastic horror book. I listen to it on an audio book which was excellent, and I have no doubt this would be made into a movie. Scary in action pack, which will make you never wanna hike in the forest of Northern Sweden, I can guarantee it!

I just love this book that has absolutely great character development, and many surprises! Set sometime in the future in a country that has had a coup and has a somewhat dystopian atmosphere, this book deal with characters trying to survive. Major to the book is a mythical bird that has magical powers, but in spite of that the character seem very realistic in their struggle. Highly recommended.

Once again, this author has written an award winning book, although I did not think it was as good as A LONG PETAL OF THE SEA. Violeta is a resilient woman who survives many struggles as she lives from 1920-2020. As in all of Allende’s books, history of Chile plays a major and exciting role in the book’s plot.

DNF-Ed. I can’t believe I’m not finishing a book set during the Black Death but with the characters speaking in a modified language of the time, I found it just too tedious.

Loving it so far…there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a Stephen King novel.

After about 90 pages, I decided to DNF it. This rambling magical realism just didn’t work for me. This book kind of reminds me of A HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE, another award-winning book I couldn’t finish.

I’m a history geek, and therefore can never get enough books about European monarchs. Often there stories are better than soap operas. Nothing tops the Tudor period, especially the story of Elizabeth and Mary. I’ve read MANY books about them, and am happy to say this book does a much better than average job than others.

4.5 stars. While this book can seem dreary and depressing as a young alcoholic mother struggles in rehab so she can regain her 4 year old son, it also shines eventually with resilience of the human spirit. Sonia’s love for her son shines through. The audio book was excellent and gripping. Award-winning book that will be being made into a movie.

Highly recommend this unique sci-fi book in the vein of THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE and DARK MATTER. Great character development as the two main characters live in countless lives together.

Very good small town mystery. Reminds me of Robin Yoakum’s style. Creative, surprise ending which made me rate the book 4.5 stars. Also good character development.

4.5stars. Very happy to finally have read this trilogy that reads as an adult Harry Potter. By the final book, though, the endless quests became a little tedious

4.5 stars for this quirky mystery that was an Amazon best book of the month. Shows the power of family achieving social justice and special needs teens being successful.

3.5 stars. Stunning story of witch trials in early 17th century Norway.
