I don't know how this one is going to go. Davis's mum has her shit together, in an independently sad way. Everyone is so up for an 'I'm so independent' award. Madigan's Aunt Shirley who is apparently dying but so upbeat about it, making jokes, etc. She's going to take over Golden Pines nursing home, or whatever it's called, because she's so perkily independent and looking forward to the other side. Hmm...

Pfffff I feel the walls caving in on Xaden and it sucks

Vi has really developed into this strong young woman, and while I know just how much Xaden has her back, always, she has his in quietly strong, key moments ways. The equality of it all is a beautiful thing.

Sadly, there are not enough hours in my days to read. But I'm invested once again. Loving the banter across the main friendship group. Glad Sawyer is up and about. Totally loving the whole Xaden and his shadows with Violet vibe.

In all fairness, I'm only 15% in, it's a long book though, but I'm putting the book down here and there because it's not grabbing me like the first 2 did. Fourth Wing and Iron Flame both grabbed me straight up. Fingers crossed this can grow on me.

All I can think of is, 'won't someone feed this damn girl'. She's fighting, starved, given her own blood, mentally and physically on the edge but, you know, sure, who needs food, right? Humans. Feed. Her.

Come on. You cannot be a psychologist and psych profiler, as Tracey is, and not know what "conversion" or "reparative therapy" is. Religiosity and the fallout around it needs understanding. The FBI would deal with cults or compounds. So, they would have to be prepared and (pre)educated.
