GUYS. This is a must-read for introverts, and for anyone who has gone through a difficult time. So basically everyone. So insightful, comforting, and helpful! So glad my friend Abby recommended this one to me. Thanks, girl <3

P.S. time for bed!! That’s when you know you have an extra good book, when you stay up past your bedtime to read.

Just a couple of chapters into this, and as someone who cares too much about too many things—I think this book promises to be amazing! (If you can filter through the F-bombs and such haha)

Quarantined. My husband says: at least you’ll meet your reading goal! He’s a keeper.

I need to read more of Neil's books. I have loved every one that I have read, and I have no doubt that this is another gem. That being said... I need to put this aside for now. It's a collection of short stories and I REALLY like it so far; thing is, Neil warns us in the intro of disturbing elements in some of the stories. He wasn't kidding. I'm gonna come back to this one.

I LOVE this book so far. Mostly told from the view of a young boy, the point-of-view is unique and fascinating. It's definitely more of a serious book, but enough funny observations to even it out. My favorite quote so far: "The seven years were not seven years. They were not seven hundred years. Their length could not be measured in years, just as an ocean could not explain the distance we had traveled..." (page 81)

Halfway through, I am disappointed. I really wanted to like this book! So far I find it to be redundant and one-dimensional--the first 112 pages could have been summed up in 15 or so. I will finish it eventually, but I think I'll set it aside for now.
