HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!

HELL YEAH HE DID! But seriously, no matter how many times I read it, the prologue to this book gives me chills.

Listen, I have Covid—the first time I’ve gotten it after dodging it for all these years—and I’m just well enough to be bored and want to read, but not well enough to want to actually have to pay attention…so we’re reading this because I’m sure it’ll entertain me, I don’t have to have a working brain for it, and it’s kind of a Halloween read, right?

Tried reading Powerless by Lauren Roberts the other day. DNFd in 4 chapters because the writing was…really bad. Like, I-don’t-think-an-editor-ever-looked-at-that-thing-she-might-have-just-published-her-first-draft bad. I don’t understand the hype there, clearly. And now I’ve DNFd a second book because of bad writing. Gonna go back to authors that I know can actually write well for a second.

December has really been my best month of reading with all the 5 stars and new favorites I’ve been picking up. This one looks like it might join them too!

This book is so strange but it’s got me ✨STRESSED✨

98% of the “psychoanalysis” chapter I just read can kick rocks. The rest of the book so far has been quite fascinating, even if I wouldn’t say I agree with some of Lewis’s points.

I was supposed to finish my e-arc of this by the pub date, but god this book is a slog and I’m STRUGGLING. I just want this thing over. How is there still 30% left???

I’m gonna try to get to the halfway point then reevaluate… but I’m not loving this right now and may DNF 😬

So far it seems interesting with very pretty writing.

Have to pause this to get some other books read but it’s been decently fascinating.
