A lil boring and I dont like the fact that the FMC is keeping a secret from our MMC.

Shes acknowledged how wrong it is several times and instead of changing her agenda she wants to change her tactics...

I don't like dishonest characters esp when they recognize that their duping good people.

Don't mind me, just butt chugging this series over here...

Anywho - book 3, two words:

Really sweet...this book is just really sweet.

So far it all take place on the road on the way to the black bear clans home

I'm into this book.

No glaring red flags except for the male narrator for the audiobook SUCKS. Read > Listen

I digress - the weak plot point is that the MMCs (this is a RH) are only bullying or trying to get rid of her bc one of their friends (who is missing) told them that if they see her send her away.

They don't inherently hate her for any reason. Their motive feels weak bc its not their own...

Much better now that I took a brief break on book 2

There are some super cringy corny moments I had to skim, and it helped me stay invested.

I'd like to finish it, since I made it this far🤞🏾

Took a break, came back and I'm liking it

This series has gotten progressively blah for me

The ending is always a cliffhanger (excitement) then the beginning of the next book picks up after cliffhanger (more excitement). However, whatever transpires in the middle ends up being a snoozefest.

Sadly I know this one ends in a cliffhanger so I'll prob get roped into book 5 but idk if ill finish it. Feels like wading through waisted deep sludge.

The first book was really good.

Book 2 reads like a bad soap opera - like Passions from the early 2000s

A lot of talking in circles with silly declarations not moving the plot along at all...

Literally was gifted an a motorcycle and is talking about reimbursing the alphas to the point where it's "she won't claim it, it's a temporary loan"

Girl if you don't stfu and accept the gift.

Nothing says prideful poverty then not being able to accept a gift and turn it into an even exchange or transaction...

Incoming rant:

For once I would like to see a poor FMC who doesn't balk and turn down every item they're gifted.

Its a played out trope - we get it "she's poor and she's too proud to accept any gifts and if she does - don't worry bc she's keeping track and going to reimburse you for every penny you spent on her"

This book is awesome but that is a PET PEEVE.

I bitched and complained about bully romances - but maybe they're onto something *contemplatively taps chin*

However these guys are all about her from the start!

And here I am longing for the push and pull of those bully RH I despised before. Also the parallel story in the background is sort of a snooze fest.

This isn't shaping up how I thought but I'll let it ride to the 50% mark see where that gets me.

Im new to the sub genre of RH and I guess bullying is a sought after trope.

Now I don't mind enemies to lovers but so so far two of the guys have said things to the FMC that would immediately be a hell no for me!

Something akin to I hope you die and then another one (former childhood friend) tells her he never cared about her enough to maintain a friendship with after she became a social outcast.
