I really want to like it but meh :/ feel like this is going around the bush and I still see no main point in this story even if it’s already 60%.

Done with part 1 and I’m so frustrated with the way it was written. The repetitive indent, the tiny paragraph, as if it was poem but it’s not. Plus, 99 pages in but I still don’t see the main point of the story. Okay, let’s keep going.

I have so much in mind at this very moment in which I dont really understand wtf is going on in this family. Though it still lures me in.

Marilyn, went away without any clue — maybe she could just study on her free time from the house chore? I cant judge though since James did t want her to do anything.

Nath is having the first child problem and Lydia is carrying her mother’s high expectations.

*SPOILERS*

Both Marilyn and James were having a bad childhood. James was Asian-American, even though he grew up in the US, he’s still considered an outcast (in both his and others’ POV). While Marilyn hasn’t been in a great situation with her mum since she got married. They both have placed some expectation on their kids which is hmm — not surprise.

27% in -- surprisingly good! I didn't like Convenience Store Woman much, it kinda boring for me honestly. Though this book surprise me! Many of my bookish friends recommended this book and I picked this up out of nowhere without remembering what it's about. That's the good point.

Recommended to read without knowing anything about the book. Let it surprise you along the reading journey.
