In 1970, Elton John and Bernie Taupin came to the US. Elton John gave his first US concerts at the Troubadour Club in Los Angeles. John and Taupin couldn’t believe that their idol David Ackles was going to be John’s opening act. Taupin was interviewed for this book and says how thrilled he and Elton John were to meet David Ackles and there’s a quote from Elton John saying he was ”a number one fan” of Ackles
