Brandon Sanderson doesn't miss.

There are some heartwarming moments for sure. Some of the writing is really heavy fisted. Like "yeah gang we learned a lesson! Let's try and apply it to our lives!" then ends the scene with a corny fist bump. It's a charming book for sure, but the charm gets erased by something corny or something unbelievable.

I think I really dislike they way that Harnett talks about this characters past drama. It feels forced, like they just trauma dump all the time. The whole cast is starting too feel a little bit over the top at times.

This book is good, but I do feel like Hartnett can chill on the drama. So far every character introduced just has a super dramatic backstory.

"The little people" might be one of the best chapters I have read from Abercrombie. This book is really making me respect his writing chops. Quickly becoming one of my favorites.

The more I think about this trilogy the more I am enjoying it. Abercrombie is doing a wonderful job of tying everything in together. Although this isn't as action packed as a normal Abercrombie, it plays into the title. In the final part I'm expecting a lot of action and plans revealed.

It’s weird to be 30 percent through an Abercrombie book and only have 1 action sequence.

Abercrombie is sneaking up into one of my favorite authors. His dialogue is some of the best out there.

I was really enjoying this book but there is a certain character that ends up leaving the story, which has lead to be less interested. I hope they come back because I was really enjoying the cast. Kuangs weakest points for me is her ability to create a cast of enjoyable characters, she finally did here. So I hope this person comes back.
