This is the definition of a slow burn. I’ve been reading this for a week and feel like I’ve made no progress. But it’s speeding up and becoming more interesting. I’m curious where these characters will end up

This is a definition of a slow burn. Now that it’s speeding up a little bit and I see the bigger picture, it feels faster. I like the scene setting he does, but his reliance on passive when he is talking about details annoys me.

This book is a lot better than it was pitched. Pat Conroy may be one of my top 5 authors.

This book feels so slow but the plot is actually fast. I want to really like it but the writing style is so close to just bro humor. It would surprise me if there is a line "Holden and and Miller do an epic high five" at some point.

The overall plot and world are interesting, but I’m not a fan of Holden or Miller. They feel like the same character at times.

At times it feels cringy. It’s a really interesting world but man this main characters just blend together.

I don't necessarily see his point about the absurdity. There are some good quotes but I don't see a reason for his claim.

So Portia is a spider?? That's something that I missed but I like that idea. The Portia chapters more interesting than the humans at this point.

I really like the different perspectives. Especially Portia, it's cool to see life through a parasite POV

I really like his dialogue and scene setting a lot. The way that he describes the scene is different and unique. He's a very talented writer.

This might be my third favorite trilogy of all time.

This series has been incredible.
