some of this tends to hammer home the point a little to much but the fascinating information is so captivating that it rarely seems a problem

Although initially sceptical after reading the authors "spiritual transformation" I have since come to enjoy and appreciate the facts and practical elements it offers along with the studies they cite. It's a good rationalist viewpoint into mindfulness meditation and why it's so important.

James Tyrrell is 22% done with The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values
Just as lying did, the moral landscape is quickly turning into a book that while complex is intensely engaging. The ideas are well presented but there is a simplicity that runs throughout making the arguments incredibly compelling. This isn't an easy read nor should any book on morality be such a thing but so far I would highly suggest this book.

Nearly finished for the second time and still find this book as intriguing as before. The way that ideas spread and more importantly "stick" is very important to modern marketing.

Just entering the end of the book fantastic read, not sure if it so much gives the reader a path as uses examples to try and lead the way. Either way an often amusing and intriguing read about finding one's Element.

Finished the Lexis chapter now onto grammar then phonology finishing up with tool kits. It's a really good book but I don't think many teachers realistically consider this much for every lesson they plan. It is however helping me organize my courses and giving me a lot of new ideas.

I think I need to stop reading so many books at once, otherwise I'll never finish any! However, this book is pretty good and it's giving me a lot of classroom ideas that I had forgotten about + some new ones. The grammar chapter was especially interesting.

My first French book, part of the progressive / graded readers series. It's nice and easy and I'm looking forward to listening to the Audio CD after I've finished reading it.

Quite an amazing book, really is making me realize how little I knew, or thought I knew about the second world war.

Forms done and most of my pages for the day, all before 8.30am, not too shabby. Just read the forms section. Pretty good coverage showed how to use PEAR modules to cut down the dev time.

Now that is an introduction: "Now for many years we have suckled on fear and fear alone, and there is no good product of fear. Its children are cruelty and deceit and suspicion germinating in our darkness. And just as surely as we are poisoning the air with our test bombs, so are we poisoned in our souls by fear, faceless, stupid sarcomic terror."

Pages done for the day, revised date formatting, manipulation, PEAR and more. Pretty good so far, learning a lot more useful things PEAR has opened up a lot of interesting options to me. Although I'd be interested to see how Zend works with all this.

Well finished revision of strings and calling functions. I think if I can get through 20 pages a day on average I should have this finished by early December :). But I have to start doing more practical work or I really will go crazy :P

Okay I'm soon going to have to do some practical work. This is a great refresher course but it's hard to retain all the data. I think maybe I should create a memory palace to store all this stuff.

Cleared the OOP section, getting slightly dubious how much I'm taking in now. Think it would be better to just start building something but I do want to see this through and actually finish the book. I have been sidetracked by reading Learning Teaching so I guess that's effected my time on programming.

Definitely not so much a practical guide as a reference book. However , it is reminding me of everything I'd forgotten and is doing so with concrete simple examples and clear explanations of all the fundamentals.
