Definitely not so much a practical guide as a reference book. However , it is reminding me of everything I'd forgotten and is doing so with concrete simple examples and clear explanations of all the fundamentals.

Forms done and most of my pages for the day, all before 8.30am, not too shabby. Just read the forms section. Pretty good coverage showed how to use PEAR modules to cut down the dev time.

Pages done for the day, revised date formatting, manipulation, PEAR and more. Pretty good so far, learning a lot more useful things PEAR has opened up a lot of interesting options to me. Although I'd be interested to see how Zend works with all this.

Well finished revision of strings and calling functions. I think if I can get through 20 pages a day on average I should have this finished by early December :). But I have to start doing more practical work or I really will go crazy :P

Okay I'm soon going to have to do some practical work. This is a great refresher course but it's hard to retain all the data. I think maybe I should create a memory palace to store all this stuff.

Cleared the OOP section, getting slightly dubious how much I'm taking in now. Think it would be better to just start building something but I do want to see this through and actually finish the book. I have been sidetracked by reading Learning Teaching so I guess that's effected my time on programming.

Not a fascinating read but a good refresher course so far, I'm hoping that later on it becomes more practical and starts to build example software and less theory / reference like
