Enjoying the book! I like how the author is not afraid to portray the colonial attitudes of the time, the good and the bad.

Fun read! Didn’t realize it had a connection to Singapore when I picked up the book, but that made story that much more endearing to me.

Thoroughly engaging! Absolutely enjoying this book. The historical portrayal of the Japanese occupation has always intrigued me, and it is good to know the author had researched and used some existing memoirs.

I love it already! I am always fascinated about when I read about an era around the time my piano was built. Van Gogh's story is centres around the 1880's about 20 odd years before my piano.

The story maintains its tension and engaging nature! Excited to keep reading but I have to work!
