How is this book already a 5 star read? How is this already better than the first book??? Robin Hobb, what kind of crack did you put in this?????!!!

I’m weirdly struggling to finish this book, the beginning was excellent. However, when Harriet Tubman is introduced and is suddenly buddies with Hiram, it just threw me off. I will be putting some of Coates’ non-fiction on my TBR though, since some are saying that is where he thrives.

The writing is brilliant, everything is emotive and felt. But the only thing is the actual story … this is historical fiction but to the extent that Harriet Tubman is a known superhuman… it just feels weird

The smut is in first person… 🤢
